Start where you are

Treatment for anxiety and mood disorders Canberra.

Most people do not come to therapy with a clear explanation of what is wrong.

Often, people begin therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or carrying something they cannot quite name.

Therapy is a collaborative process, grounded in understanding your concerns and working together toward shared goals.

The aim is not only to reduce distress, but also to help you build greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

Areas of support

Anxiety

Anxiety can look like constant worry, difficulty switching off, physical tension, avoiding situations, or a low-grade dread that's become so familiar you've stopped noticing it. Both anxiety and chronic stress are very treatable — and you don't have to be at crisis point to deserve support.

Trauma & PTSD

Complex trauma, PTSD and CPTSD can show up as hypervigilance, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, or a persistent sense that something is wrong — even when life looks fine from the outside. I work with both single-incident trauma and complex, repeated experiences, using evidence-based approaches including EMDR and trauma-informed therapy.

Grief & Loss

Grief isn't only about death. It can come from the end of a relationship, a career, a version of yourself, or a life that went in a direction you didn't choose. Grief that doesn't get space tends to find other ways out. Therapy offers a place to sit with it — and gradually, to move through it.

Interpersonal & Relationship Difficulties

Patterns in how we relate to others are often rooted in earlier experiences. I work with clients to understand those patterns and develop more fulfilling, connected ways of relating — to others and to themselves.

Self-Harm & Suicidal Thoughts

If you're experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, you don't have to manage them alone. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what's underneath these experiences and work toward greater safety and stability.

If you are in immediate crisis, please call 000, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

Emotional Regulation Difficulties

When emotions feel overwhelming, unpredictable, or difficult to manage, it can affect relationships, work and your sense of self. I work with clients to understand what's driving those responses and develop practical tools to feel more regulated and grounded.

Identity & Life Transitions

Starting over. Leaving a career or service. Becoming a parent. Separating from a relationship. Some of the hardest periods in life aren't crises in the traditional sense — they're transitions that shake up who you thought you were. Therapy can help you find your footing in a changed landscape.

Depression & Mood Difficulties

Depression can feel like a fog that makes everything heavier, or a flatness that's hard to explain. It can arrive suddenly or creep in over time. Therapy can help you understand what's underneath it, interrupt the patterns keeping it in place and build steadier ground.

Personal Growth & Self-Development

Not everyone who seeks therapy is in crisis. Some people simply want to understand themselves better, break old patterns, or build greater confidence and self-awareness. This kind of work is just as valuable, and I welcome clients at any point in their journey.
